Hondarribia
We repeat, the starting point is the Alameda, but today we are heading to the right, on a level path, to see the senior citizens center, formerly a casino. And the surrounding area, like Plaza Madrid, a nod to tourists from Madrid, with its bear and strawberry tree. Or Plaza Obispo, with the statue of the Archbishop of Seville who participated in the Council of Trent, Cristóbal de Rojas y Sandoval.

Now, the excursion will be to the sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe (hermitage of Guadalupe), patron saint of Hondarribia. To do this, we will climb to Guadalupe, which is located on Mount Jaizkibel. The ascent will be made via a Way of the Cross, according to the Catholic religion, a path of prayer, and more or less so, traversing a path of difficulties to reach the goal, our goal, to reach the sanctuary.

While exploring the area around the sanctuary, we discovered a fort! The Fort of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is worth noting that Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Virgin Mary are the same person in the Christian faith. Lets delve a little deeper into this discovery.
